Rhiannon Batten is a London-based freelance journalist specialising in travel, design and lifestyle. She has a particular interest in green travel, Sweden and, having spent a decade living in Scotland, anything with a hint of tartan.
Her writing has appeared in The Guardian, The Observer, The Independent, The Independent on Sunday, Condé Nast Traveller, ELLE, National Geographic Traveller, Olive, Country Walking and Wanderlust. She is also an experienced editor, having worked as a commissioning editor at The Independent and editor of The Scotsman’s Saturday magazine. She is currently travel editor at olive magazine.
Rhiannon is the author of Higher Ground: How To Travel Responsibly Without Roughing It and has contributed to a range of books, including The Guardian Green Travel Guide and the Wallpaper* City Guide to Edinburgh.
She also has extensive copywriting experience, with clients ranging from the National Trust for Scotland to Sainsbury’s, Johnstons of Elgin and Welcome to Yorkshire.
